Restorative Yoga

YIN YOGA

At Yoga vidya retreat every evening we can practice Yin yoga,Yin yoga teaches you to relax your body deeply,calm your emotions,stimulate the vital energy of the meridians(similar to nadi)and organs,while inducing a deep and intense stretching.props such as cushions,balls,tiles are used to allow the body to enter deeply into the asanas thus letting the energy flow and remove the emotional blockages that lead to physical unrest.The purpose of yin yoga is to relax the muscles and stimulate the connective tissues by applying optimal tension for a while whilst maintaining a deep breathing pattern.

Ayurvedic Full Body Massage

According to the ancient teachings of Ayurveda, food has the capacity to stimulate, repair and rejuvenate the body and a state of balance and bliss is heavily influenced by how we nourish ourselves. What makes Ayurveda unique is that prevention and treatment of sickness through alimentation takes into account the general differences in each of our natural constitutions- or mind and body types. So foods that promote certain qualities and curb others in one person may be different to those of a person with a different constitution. Hence, first it is vital to identify your constitution (dosha) to understand the types of food that serve you and those that don’t. During our retreat, we offer a consultation with an Ayurvedic doctor to develop that awareness.

KUNDALINI MEDITATION

Kundalini is the divine power which presents in all human beings in a sleeping state.In yogic view this power exist in the base of the spine.For achieving greater success in life we have to open this power through yoga.According to yogic view our spine contains seven energy centers which is known as chakras”.Each Chakra has its own connection with our brain so we can open the brain so we can open the brain through the chakra opening.

RECITATION OF SACRED SOUND (MANTRA CHANTING)

The purpose of mantra chanting in yoga is to generate vibrations and connect with the universe. Each mantra has it’s unique vibration.

ADJUSTMENT AND ALIGNMENT

The importance of adjustment and alignment in yoga cannot be focused enough.An extremely critical topic,your adjustment and alignment lessons focus on teaching your how to adjust in each Asana without causing any injuries to your body.It is done not only to prevent your body from any new stress or injury but also to avoid inflicting harm to any existing injuries.In my Adjustment and Alignment class,you would learn to position your body exactly were it should be.At the same time,If you are pursuing the course to be a yoga teacher.
